An emergency alert regarding the coronavirus pandemic is displayed on a cellphone Friday in Rio Rancho, N.M. The alert was sent out to New Mexicans across the state urging them to stay home amid a surge in COVID-19 cases and record-high hospitalizations.

Stampede Meat argues the closure violates President Trump’s April 28 executive order, which aims to keep meat packing plants open during the pandemic.
