CDC Advice On Surface Spread Of COVID-19 ‘Has Not Changed,’ Agency Says

"COVID-19 spreads mainly through close contact from person-to-person," a CDC spokesperson tells NPR. The agency is clarifying its guidance after a change to its website triggered news reports. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a headline change on its website seemed to trigger news reports saying its guidelines have changed.
